Driving in Miami…What’s a Girl to do?

Driving to and from work is a pain in the you-know-what for most people, but I have a feeling it is an even bigger source of stress for women - especially those who are living in the 305/954 area codes. Navigating the roads of South Florida is a challenge at any time of day - the elderly are either driving 20 mph below the speed limit or someone is behind you on the highway riding your tail to go even faster than the 85 mph you are already doing! Did you know that Miami was rated worst in the COUNTRY for angry drivers and traffic problems? Take these factors and mix in your day at work, your husband & kids, needing to get to the gorcery store so you can get dinner made, and trying to make time for yourself - impossible! All of these stressors add up to road rage, which leads to a wrinkled, lined, older looking you.

Miami has a rap for being one of the plastic surgery capitol’s of the world, and I woud say that the reputation is much deserved. If you don’t believe me take a trip to South Beach or to Bal Harbour mall and you will get a show of walking works of art! But now it all makes so much sense to me. See, I used to have the luxury of working out of my home, but six months ago my husband and I moved our base of operations to downtown Miami. This means I have at least a 45 minute commute each way Monday - Friday. I will tell you that I have never looked so old in my life…and I am 27! It is now no wonder to me why so many women have chosen to Botox, lift, & lipo their bodies…the traffic made them do it! My best advice to all the Miami girl’s out there is to learn either how to do yoga while driving to repel the negative effects of terrible drivers pushing their bad energy onto you from the HOV lane, or to go see a plastic surgeon if you ever feel the need. There is no shame in having that perma-scowl wiped off your brow with a bit of Botox…just tell the world that you are getting Miami-style facework because of the Miami-style traffic.
